VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton volleyball team will take on Delaware State in two matches this weekend. Friday, the Bearcats will host the Hornets before heading to Dover Sunday to finish off the mini-series.

BU is coming off a thrilling five-set victory over Siena, in which the team won the final two sets to pull out the win.

Binghamton has been trending positively of late, and has won three of its last four matches.

Stefana Stan is one kill away from 100 on the season, and has over a .200 hitting percentage in three of her last four matches. The sophomore had 18 kills Wednesday, including several key finishes down the stretch. 

Kiara Adams is now up to 261 assists on the year, and tied a season-high wiith 42 against the Saints. Anna Sprys, who leads BU in blocks and hitting percentage, had 12 kills and seven blocks Wednesday.

Hornets off to a hot start
Delaware State has been on a tear to start the season, winning 10 of 11 matches. Its only loss was against Saint Francis (PA), but the Hornets swept the very same squad a week later.

Three players have over 90 kills for Delaware State, including Alondra Maldonado's team leading 115. The sophomore is hitting a whopping .356 on the season, and has had double-digit kills in all but one match.

Defensively, Sydney Lewis is amongst NCAA leaders in blocks, with 48 on the year.The Bowie, Md. native has two nine-block performances on the young campaign.

The Hornets are winners of six straight matches. This will be the first two meetings between the two sides.
