VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton volleyball team will head to Bethlehem, Pa. for a weekend tournament, it's second of the season. The Bearcats (1-2) will take on Dartmouth (0-0), St. Francis Brooklyn (1-3), and Lehigh (0-3) Friday and Saturday.
BU opens competition with a match against Dartmouth, who is kicking off its season. The Big Green returns to action for the first time since 2019, and has its leading hitter from that squad in Nicole Liddie.
The senior tallied 202 kills in 2019, including a 20-kill effort in the team's season finale against Cornell.Â
Dartmouth went 10-15 on the year in 2019.
St. Francis Brooklyn is 1-3 on the young season, with its lone victory over St. Peters on August 28. Senior Carla Hernandez leads the team with 30 kills, alongside freshman Cristal Paulino, who has 22 blocks in just four contests.
The Terriors' losses have come against Bucknell, Delaware State, and Hofstra.
The tournament finale will come against the hosts, who are coming off an 0-3 showing against tough competition last weekend. Despite falling to Virginia Tech, Elon and Toledo, the Mountaineers won at least a set in every matchup, and have three players with at least 20 kills on the year.
Makena Smith has helped lead the offense, handing out 87 assists while Kyleigh Brown leads with 46 digs.
