HANOVER, N.H. - Binghamton men's tennis (0-5) started strong before Bryant (1-4) rallied for a 5-2 win Sunday morning at Dartmouth's Boss Tennis Center.Â
The Bearcats took the doubles point for the second straight match on the strength of wins at the top two spots. In singles, BU won first sets in three matches before the Bulldogs responded.
Junior No. 1
Shourya Verma closed out his second straight win with a 6-3, 6-2 score.Â
Before the match, the Bulldogs recognized BU graduate student
Anshumat Srivastava, who played three seasons for Bryant but missed his traditional senior tribute when COVIDÂ took hold.Â

"We had a great opportunity for Anshumat to get the Senior Day from Bryant that he never had due to COVIDÂ and credit to Coach Ron Gendron and Bryant for taking the opportunity to recognize him and his contributions," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "We're moving in the right direction ... taking a second doubles point in a row and having three first-sets in hand today. But it stings when you don't stay on top of things and finish all the way through."Â
The Bearcats return to the courts next weekend with a Saturday afternoon match at Brown. Â
