Aruj and Cuomo win two matches at ITA Regionals at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore Natalia Aruj and freshman Loren Cuomo won two doubles matches to highlight Binghamton women's tennis' showing at the ITA Northeast Regional, hosted by Princeton at its Lenz Tennis Center and Jadwin Gymnasium.

The pair took down opponents from NJIT and Rutgers by identical 8-5 scores in the first two rounds before dropping an 8-4 decision against a pair from Army. Aruj, who entered the tournament with a perfect 9-0 singles record, suffered a narrow 7-5, 7-6 loss to an Army opponent in her opening match.

The Bearcats sent four singles players and two doubles teams to the regional event, one of two Northeast events that will conclude with top finishers advancing to the ITA Super Regionals at the end of the month.

Binghamton next travels up to Syracuse for a dual match against Le Moyne at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Skytop Tennis Courts.
