SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Dyaisha Fair scored a game-high 19 points and Dariauna Lewis added 17 points, powering Syracuse (3-0) to a 92-59 win over Binghamton (2-1) in a non-conference women's basketball game on Monday night at the JMA Wireless Dome. The contest marked the first time that the Bearcats and Orange had squared off since 2012.
Fair and Lewis paced an Orange attack that shot 50 percent from the floor (37-of-74) and got to the free throw line 31 times (converting 17 attempts). The Bearcats, by contrast, shot just 31 percent from the field (22-of-71) and got to the free throw line just eight times (making five attempts).

Ella Wanzer scored a team-high 12 points. In the process, she tied her career high with four three-point field goals.

Meghan Casey scored a career-high 11 points. She also added a career-high six rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Sophomore forward
Genevieve Coleman had the hot hand to start the game, scoring seven of the Bearcats' first 10 points as they went up 10-9 with four minutes gone in the first period. From there, however, the Orange went on a 15-0 run to take a 24-10 lead at the end of the first period.
Binghamton clawed to within 24-16 on a three pointer by senior forward
Clare Traeger with one minute elapsed in the second period. Syracuse, however, resumed its dominance and went on to take a 48-23 lead at the half.
Syracuse took a 73-38 led at the end of the third period and both teams emptied their benches during the fourth period.
"We had some good opportunities on offense but our shots just were not falling," head coach
Bethann Shapiro Ord said. "We also need to be better at not giving teams second chances by not rebounding on the defensive end."
The Bearcats were effective from beyond the three-point arc, shooting 40 percent (10-of-25). The 10 three pointers is their highest total so far this season.
Coleman finished the game with seven points and five rebounds. Also scoring seven points was freshman forward
Camryn Fauria, who was 2-for-6 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line.

Anna Long netted a career-best five points as did graduate student forward

Khoryn Bannis, meanwhile, grabbed a career-high five rebounds.

Denai Bowman led Binghamton with five assists.
The Orange held a slim 51-47 edge in rebounding but had a commanding 68-16 advantage in points in the paint as well as a 25-4 lead in points off of turnovers.
Binghamton returns home on Wednesday to face Pitt-Johnstown at 7 p.m.
