STORY LINES
- Binghamton (3-2) won three out of five games at its season-opening Georgia Southern/Battle of the Boro Tournament last weekend. As a team, the Bearcats hit .333 and averaged 4.80 runs per game.
- Sophomore pitcher/infielder
Allison L'Amoreaux – the current America East Player of the Week – hit a team-best .500 with three home runs and five RBI last weekend. On the mound, she was 2-1 with a 2.63 ERA. Freshman outfielder
Alayna Harbaugh – the current America East Rookie of the Week – hit .467 with three doubles and three stolen bases.
- Holy Cross (0-0) opens its season at the College of Charleston Tournament. The Crusaders finished the 2021 season 8-20.
- Binghamton and Holy Cross have never faced each other in softball.
- Lipscomb (0-4) dropped four games at the South Carolina/Gamecock Invitational last weekend. Amy Vetula batted a team-best .500 for the Bison.Â
- In the only previous meeting between the two teams, Binghamton beat Lipscomb 7-5 back on Feb. 19, 2010. That game took place at season-opening Georgia Southern Invitational.
- The College of Charleston (2-3) went 1-2 at the Alabama State/Stinger Classic last weekend. Makala Belser leads the Governors with a .400 batting average so far this season.
- The College of Charleston leads the all-time series against Binghamton 2-0, having won both games at its 2008 home tournament. The Governors won 3-2 on March 15 of that season as well as 11-0 the following day.
- Valparaiso (1-3) went 1-3 at its season-opening DePaul Dome Tournament. Taylor Tonoian leads the Beacons with a .429 batting average.
- This weekend marks the first time that Binghamton and Valparaiso will square off in softball.
