Women's Basketball Heads to Hartford

Bearcats and Hawks tip off Monday at 5 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (6-18, 2-12 AE) beat UMass Lowell 71-54 on Saturday afternoon at the Events Center. Junior guard Denai Bowman finished with 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Junior forward Clare Traeger had 15 points, seven rebounds and a pair of blocks. Also reaching double figures in scoring were junior forwards Jalyn Van Dyke (12) and Birna Benonysdottir (11).

- Benonysdottir and Bowman rank second and third in the America East in scoring with 14.5 and 14.0 points per game respectively. Traeger is second with 8.3 rebounds per contest. Bowman is also second in assists (3.8 apg.) and third in steals (1.9 spg.) while Benonysdottir is tied for ninth in blocks (0.9 bpg.).

- As a team, the Bearcats are fourth in the conference in blocks (3.08 bpg.) and free throw percentage (.712). They also continue to lead the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense (.231).

- Hartford (2-23, 2-12 AE) lost 95-69 at home on Saturday. Abby Streeter, Paula Maurina and Carmen Villalobos each led the Hawks in scoring with 12 points.

- Maurina ranks ninth in the America East with 11.8 point per game. Villalobos, meanwhile, is eighth in rebounding (6.3 rpg.) and is tied for fourth in steals (1.7 spg.)

- Hartford leads the all-time series 31-15. In the first meeting of the season on Jan. 26 at the Events Center, the Hawks took a 59-37 overtime decision. Benonysdottir led the Bearcats with 18 points but Maurina led all scorers with 23 points.
