STORY LINES
- Binghamton begins its 10th season at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Since the facility opened on March 30, 2013, the Bearcats have gone 55-35 all time on their home field.
- The Bearcats Sports Complex has been the location for the America East Tournament four times (2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018) and will host the event again this May.
- Binghamton (11-10) went 3-2 at the Maryland Invitational last weekend. Senior infielder
Alli Richmond, who is batting a team-best .368 so far this season, went 8-for-16 (.500) during the tournament and belted three doubles. Fellow senior infielder
Makayla Alvarez finished the weekend 6-for-13 (.461) and is batting .317 for the year. Junior catcher
Quinn DeCicco clubbed a grand slam and drove in six runs.
- Iona (6-12) won 2-1 at Columbia on Wednesday. Morgan Richey leads the Gaels in batting (.300) while Jamie Sheerin is tops with three home runs and nine RBI.
- This weekend marks the first-ever meeting between Binghamton and Iona in softball.
- Richmond ranks ninth in the America East in batting while freshman outfielder
Alayna Harbaugh is No. 10 with a .364 average. Richmond also leads the America East with 10 doubles and is ranked fifth in the nation with 0.50 doubles per game. Harbaugh, who was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Feb. 22, is first in the conference with 11 stolen bases and ranks No. 47 in the nation with 0.52 steals per game.
- Alvarez continues to climb up the charts in several Binghamton career statistics. Heading into the series against Iona, she is currently No. 11 with both 74 runs and 27 doubles, is tied for seventh with 18 home runs, is No. 10 with 33 multiple-hit games and is No. 11 with a .505 slugging percentage.
- Alvarez carries an eight-game hitting streak heading into the weekend series against Iona – just one game away from her career high. DeCicco has a career-best, seven-game hitting streak. During that stretch, she has driven in nine runs. Richmond, meanwhile, has a career-high, six game hitting streak.
- On the mound, sophomore pitcher
Allison L'Amoreaux leads the Bearcat staff with a 7-5 record. She has struck out 55 batters so far this season. In the America East rankings, she is second in victories and fifth in strikeouts. She was named the America East Player of the Week on Feb. 22, however, for her work at the plate in the season-opening Georgia Southern/Battle of the Boro Tournament Feb. 11-13.

Sarah Rende have all hit a team-best three-home runs so far this season. Pappas and Richmond are tied for the team lead with 10 RBI. Rende, who is hitting .310 so far this season, ranks No. 10 in the America East with a .420 slugging percentage and has scored a conference-best 16 runs.

Chelsea Howard have each recorded a complete-game shutout this season. Howard, who has five career saves, has been the Bearcats' second starter this season. Her 37 strikeouts currently rank seventh in the America East.
