Baseball drops road game at VMI 13-1

Mason goes 3-for-4 with RBI; Corry and Bade collect two hits apiece; Series finale Sunday

LEXINGTON, Va. - Host VMI (6-4) amassed 16 hits and scored in every inning to topple Binghamton baseball (2-6) 13-1 Saturday afternoon at Gray-Minor Stadium. The Keydets have now won the first games of the series with the finale set for 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Bearcats collected 10 hits but left 10 stranded and were only able to push a run across in the fourth inning.

Right fielder Colin Mason went 3-for-4 with an RBI and third baseman Devan Bade and shortstop Isaiah Corry had two hits apiece.

The Keydets scored one run in the first, fourth in the second, one in the third and two more in each of the fourth and fifth innings to pull away early.

Mason's RBI single in the fourth accounted for BU's run. Bade led off the inning with a single and then with two outs, Corry singled to center and Mason followed with his run-scoring hit to right on a 3-1 count. Mason also led off the third inning with a double but was left stranded.
