Men's Lacrosse Set to Host Stony Brook

Binghamton men's lacrosse (4-5, 2-0 AE) is back in action on Saturday to take on Stony Brook (7-4, 2-1 AE). The Bearcats look to finish conference play strong after dropping their final non-conference game of the 2022 season, 12-10, on March 29 against No. 20 Lehigh. 

Notes

  • BU is led by senior Kevin Winkoff who has a team-high 23 goals and 13 assists on the season. Winkoff ranks third in goals per game (2.56), third in assists per game (1.44), and second in points per game (4.00).

  • Seniors Drew Furlong and Max Verch have led the defense with 11 caused turnovers each. The freshman duo of Jack Fearnley and Lorenzo Ramos have both caused seven turnovers. 

  • Junior Matthew Desouza and sophomore Ross Chazanow have provided a steady balance at the faceoff position for the Bearcats. Desouza holds a .556 faceoff win percentage and Chazanow a .469 faceoff win percentage.

Scouting Stony Brook

  • Offensively, the Seawolves are led by sophomore Dylan Pallonetti and graduate student Kevin Mack. Pallonetti ranks first in the America East with 2.73 goals per game, 4.09 points per game and Mack leads the America East in assists per game with 1.91.

  • On the defensive side of the ball, Stony Brook is led by junior Christian Lowd and graduate student Jacob Williams, who each have caused 16 turnovers this season.

  • Senior goalie Anthony Palma ranks third in the America East in saves per game (11.64), saves percentage (.510), and goals against average (11.77).

Series History

  • Stony Brook leads the all time series 15-6, winning the last three contests against BU.

  • The Bearcats last won in 2017, 6-5 at Stony Brook
