In the third period, Taylor was in deep on a double-leg, but Day stuffed the attempt and the crowd applauded him for his defense. After being called for stalling, Day fought off Taylor down the stretch to give the Bearcats their first win of the afternoon.

  • Tied 1-1 late in the third period at 133 pounds, Ivan Garcia needed an escape because of the riding time advantage held by Jaret Lane.
