Second to last non-conference match of the fall for the Bearcats

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (BUBearcats.com) - The Binghamton University volleyball team (9-8) will travel south Tuesday to play Long Island University for a mid-week, non-conference match. Start time is slated for 6 p.m. inside the Steinberg Wellness Center.

The contest will be broadcast on NEC Front Row and can be followed through live stats.

The Bearcats are coming off a two win weekend inside the Events Center as they took down America East foes New Hampshire 3-1 Friday night and Bryant 3-0 Sunday afternoon. The victories keep BU undefeated in conference play and extend the team's win streak to three.

Binghamton led the Wildcats in five statistical categories with a .276 hitting percentage as well as owning the 63-54 advantage in kills and blocks 8-4 Friday night.

Tsvetelina Ilieva, Ella Schabort and Misa Dlouha all registered double-digit kills for BU with Ilieva posting a team-high 23 kills at .276, her fourth performance of 20 or more kills this season. Schabort followed with 12 kills while Dlouha tacked on 10 at .333. Anna Sprys and Lydia Adam added eight and seven kills, respectively, for Binghamton in the victory.

Lottie Scully recorded her fourth double-double of the fall with a season-high 46 assists and 19 digs for the setter. Madison Konopka notched 13 digs at libero while Sprys grabbed a team-best six blocks for the Bearcats.

Against Bryant, BU dominated the Bulldogs at the net, recording 13.5 team blocks to the visiting team's three. The Bearcats put up twice as many service aces, with four, as their conference opponents, who rank within the top 10 nationally from the service line. Binghamton held Bryant to just a .162 hitting percentage while owning a .333 clip themselves.

Ilieva and Schabort earned double-digit kill figures for the Bearcats, registering 13 and 10 apiece, respectively. Schabort's ten successful attack attempts came at an impressive .500 hitting percentage while Dlouha added five kills at her own .500 clip.

Sprys notched a season-high nine blocks at the net for BU while Adam tallied a Binghamton career-best five against the Bulldog offense. Scully and Dlouha earned four blocks each, a season-high total for Scully. Scully posted 29 assists at setter for the Bearcats while libero Konopka led the back row with a team-high 16 digs.

LIU owns a 3-1 series lead over BU, with the two team's last match-up resulting in a 3-0 loss for the Bearcats, Aug. 30, 2014.

Next up, Binghamton will stay on the road for an America East contest against Albany, Sunday, Oct. 15. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
