BU to face UNH in semifinal round Friday

BALTIMORE, Md. (BUBearcats.com) - The Binghamton University volleyball team (14-12, 6-4) will face University of New Hampshire in the semifinal round of the America East Championship, Friday, Nov. 17 inside UMBC's Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena. Match time is slated for 8 p.m.

After finishing the regular season 6-4 in America East play, Binghamton has the No.3 seed and will play No. 2 UNH who posted a 7-3 conference record this fall.

Four Bearcats took home six America East Annual Awards, the conference announced Thursday afternoon. Tsvetelina Ilieva earned her second consecutive Player of the Year honor and Misa Dlouha was named America East Rookie of the Year.

Ilieva grabbed the Bearcats' sole First Team All-Conference and All-Academic nod while Lottie Scully and Ella Schabort notched Second Team All-Conference distinctions. Additionally, Dlouha and Schabort were named to the All-Rookie Team.

The squads previous match up came last Sunday, Nov. 12, with the Wildcats taking a 3-0 win in Durham. Although the Bearcats took the teams first contest 3-1, Oct. 6, inside the Events Center.

UNH leads the all-time series 28-19 over Binghamton. BU faced New Hampshire in last year's postseason after winning the 2022 regular season title, losing in the semifinals 3-0, Nov. 19.

The victor of Friday's semifinals will advance to the America East Championship Final on Saturday. Match time is set for 6 p.m.
