Volleyball Heads to Manhattan Wednesday

Binghamton concludes non-conference schedule against Jaspers

RIVERDALE, N.Y. (BUBearcats.com) - The Binghamton University volleyball team (13-10, 6-3) will conclude its non-conference at Manhattan (9-19, 6-10) Wednesday night inside Draddy Gymnasium. Match time is slated for 6 p.m. 

BU is currently on a two-match losing streak after dropping a five set match 3-2 at Bryant last Friday, Nov. 3 and another 3-1 to UMBC on Sunday, Nov. 5 inside the Events Center. The losses rank the Bearcats second in the conference standings with a 6-3 league record. 

Despite the losses, BU owned the blocking advantage in both matches. The team registered a 15-12 blocking lead over Bryant and earned a 19-15 spread against UMBC, both in favor of the Bearcats. 

Binghamton leads the America East in hitting percentage at .228 and in blocks with an average of 2.71 per set. The BU defense also ranks the team first in opponent blocks, allowing just 1.66 per set. 

Tsvetelina Ilieva continues to top the America East in kills per set with 4.23 and points per set at 4.88. Anna Sprys and Misa Dlouha also stand atop the conference standings in blocks, sitting in first and second with 1.30 and 1.27 per set, respectively. 

Next up, Binghamton will conclude the 2023 regular season on the road against New Hampshire this Sunday, Nov. 12. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
