Women’s Basketball Faces Coppin State

Bearcats and Eagles Square Off Sunday at 2 p.m.

STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (2-8) lost 71-64 to Canisius on Dec. 8. Redshirt sophomore guard Ella Wanzer finished with a team-best 18 points while freshman guard Bella Pucci added career highs in both points (11) and rebounds (five). Redshirt sophomore guard Jadyn Weltz, meanwhile, dished out a season-high 10 assists.
 
- Wanzer leads the Bearcats and is eighth in the America East with 13.3 points per game. Weltz is No. 13 with 10.4 points per game and leads the conference with 5.0 assists per game. Graduate student guard Denai Bowman is averaging 10.0 points per game, is seventh in the conference with 1.3 steals per game and is tied at No. 10 with 0.7 blocks per game.
 
- As a team, Binghamton ranks first in the America East with 65.3 points per game, a .431 field goal percentage and a .385 three-point field goal percentage. The Bearcats are also first with 15.1 assists per game.
 
- Playing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MEAC) Coppin State (3-8) is a first-time opponent for the Bearcats. The Eagles were defeated 55-41 at George Washington in their most recent game on Dec. 9.
 
- Laila Lawrence ranks fourth in the MEAC with 13.2 points per game. She is also third with 8.2 rebounds per game and second with 1.2 blocks per night. As a team, Coppin State leads the MEAC with 2.9 blocks per game.
 
- Coppin State is the fifth of six first-time opponents that the Bearcats will square off against this season.
