BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Binghamton women's tennis played a tight match with visiting Niagara before falling 4-3 Friday night at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center.Â
The Bearcats won the doubles point but the Purple Eagles rallied with four singles wins, albeit aided by an injury default that proved to be the deciding point.Â

Natalia Aruj each earned a pair of wins to pace Binghamton. Aruj teamed with freshman
Loren Cuomo for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles - a win that clinched the doubles point for the Bearcats. Earlier, Kaplan and sophomore
Caterina Casadei paired for a dominating 6-1 win at No. 2.Â
In singles, Aruj rolled to a 6-3, 6-0 win ate No. 2 singles, notching her team-high 12th win of the year. Kaplan was the last Bearcat off the court, earning a 6-2, 7-6 (4) win at No. 1.
Binghamton next heads to Poughkeepsie for a Saturday afternoon match at Marist. Â
