FORT MYERS, Fla . – Grace Loftin drove in six runs, powering UNC-Greensboro (3-2) to a 10-1, five-inning win over Binghamton (1-4) in the final day of the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament on Sunday morning at the FGCU Softball Complex.
Loftin, who finished the game a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, smacked a two-run double in the top of the first inning and belted a grand slam two innings later. In her final at bat, Loftin led off the top of the fifth inning with a double and scored one batter later.
The Bearcats' lone run came in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI double by graduate student second baseman
Alli Richmond. It marked her second RBI double of the weekend.
On the mound, Rhyann held Binghamton to one run on five hits and struck out three batters. Her record improves to 2-0. The loss was tagged to freshman pitcher Sydney Leitner, who is 0-1.
Up next for Binghamton is the Furman Tournament this coming Friday-Sunday.
