Baseball drops series finale at Clemson

Reifler, Corry finish off hot weekends with two hits apiece but BU falls 19-1

CLEMSON, S.C. - Host Clemson (3-0) exploded for 13 runs in the middle three innings and defeated Binghamton baseball (0-3) 19-1 in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Doug Kingsman Stadium.

Up 1-0, Clemson erupted for seven runs on eight hits in the fourth inning and then added three runs in the fifth and seven more in the sixth.

The Bearcats pushed across their lone run in the sixth inning and collected nine hits on the game. Binghamton left some chances on the base paths with 11 runners stranded.

Juniors Tommy Reifler and Isaiah Corry finished off outstanding weekends with two hits apiece. Reifler went 2-for-3 on Sunday and 7-for-10 in the series, in addition to stellar play in left field. Corry went 2-for-4 and drove in BU's run with an RBI single in the sixth. He was 5-for-9 on the weekend and produced a great play in the field with a putout from the outfield grass in deep short in the third inning.

The Bearcats travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. next weekend for the Wake Forest tournament.
