STORY LINES

- Binghamton (11-7, 0-0 AE) has been off since splitting a four-game series at George Mason March 11-12. Junior catcher Hailey Ehlers hit a team-best .615 (8-for-13) with two doubles, a triple, a home run and six RBI in the four games. Redshirt sophomore utility player Lindsey Walter was 6-for-12 (.500).

- The Bearcats head into the series against Maine having won eight of their past 10 games. Binghamton has scored 10 or more runs three times during that stretch.

- Binghamton starts its 21st season of America East conference play as well as its 10th season of playing at the Bearcats sports complex. The Bearcats are 62-43 all time since the Bearcats Sports Complex opened in 2013. In 2020, Binghamton did not have a home game nor conference contest due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

- Walter leads the America East and ranks No. 11 in the nation with a .488 batting average. She is also tops in the conference and No. 16 in the nation with a .553 on-base percentage. Sophomore outfielder Laney Haubaugh is fifth in the nation with 0.89 stolen bases per game while redshirt sophomore utility player Brianna Santos leads the America East with 20 RBI and is No. 28 in the nation with 1.11 RBI per game.

- Ehlers ranks sixth in the America East in batting (.378) and eighth in slugging percentage with a team-best .568. Graduate student second baseman Alli Richmond leads Binghamton with two home runs and ranks sixth in the America East with 12 RBI.

- On the mound, freshman Brianna Roberts  is 4-1, ranks sixth in the America East with a 3.36 ERA and is fourth with 45 strikeouts. Walter and graduate student Sophia Pappas each have a conference-best two saves.

- Maine (7-18, 0-0 AE) won three out of five games during its recent California road trip March 15-18. Most recently, however, the Black Bears lost 2-0 to St. Mary's (Calif.) on March 18.

- Leading the Black Bears this season has been Grace McGouldrick, who ranks No. 10 in the America East with a .348 batting average. In addition, she ranks first in the America East and ninth in the nation with 21 stolen bases. She is also ninth in the nation with 0.89 stolen bases per game.

- Maine leads the all-time series against Binghamton 38-26. Most recently, however, the Bearcats took two out of three games in Orono last April 23-24. After the two teams split a doubleheader the first day, Binghamton won the finale 10-7 in 10 innings. In the last series at the Bearcats Sports Complex (April 17-18, 2021), it was the Black Bears who took two of the three games.

- Binghamton and Maine are each coached by alums. Jess Bump played for the Bearcats from 2011-14 while Jordan Fitzpatrick competed for the Black Bears from 2007-10. Bump homered against the Black Bears during a three-game home series in 2013 but in 2008, Fitzpatrick did the same against the Bearcats during a series at the old East Gym Field.
