Softball Hosts UMass Lowell on Senior Day Weekend

Bearcats and River Hawks to play 3 p.m. game Friday, DH at 11 a.m. on Saturday

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (21-13, 7-4 AE) gained a split against Syracuse at home on Wednesday, losing the first game 4-2 before winning the nightcap 12-3 in five innings. Redshirt sophomore third baseman Brianna Santos, redshirt sophomore second baseman Gabby Guerrero and freshman shortstop Akira Kopec each drove in three runs during the two games.

- The Bearcats enter the series against UMass Lowell having won seven of their last 10 games. In the past five games, they have averaged 8.4 runs per game and have won three times in just five innings during that span.

- Redshirt sophomore utility player Lindsey Walter leads the America East and ranks fifth in the nation with a .477 batting average. She also ranks No. 19 in the nation with a .531 on-base percentage. Sophomore outfielder Laney Harbaugh, meanwhile, ranks No. 32 in the nation with 0.58 stolen bases per game.

- Santos ranks first in the America East with 32 RBI. She is also fifth in batting (.367) and second in slugging percentage (.578). Sophomore outfielder Sarah Rende is tied for first in the conference with nine doubles and is tied for fourth with 21 RBI.

- Harbaugh enters the series against UMass Lowell with a team-best, six-game hitting streak. Kopec, meanwhile, has five RBI in the past three games.

- Binghamton has the current America East Pitcher and Rookie of the Week. Graduate student Sophia Pappas was named the Pitcher of the Week for the first time in her career. Freshman pitcher Brianna Roberts, meanwhile, has now been named the Rookie of the Week a program-best four times this season.

- As a team, the Bearcats are tied for first in the America East in batting (.292), rank second in pitching (2.94 ERA) and are first in fielding percentage (.966).

- UMass Lowell (15-21-1, 5-6 AE) took two out of three games at Maine last weekend. The River Hawks are led by Morgan Fisher, who is batting .315 (No. 10 in the America East). She is also tied for second in the conference with 27 RBI. Mya Case, meanwhile, is tied for first in the America East with six home runs.

- On the mound, Rylie White ranks first in the America East with a 1.74 ERA. She is also fourth with 70 strikeouts.

- As a team, the River Hawks are fourth in the conference in batting (.243), third in pitching (3.38 ERA) and second in fielding (.962).

Prior to Saturday's doubleheader, Binghamton will hold its annual Senior Day Ceremony. This year's honorees are Quinn DeCicco, Jill Fittry, Chloe Morgan, Pappas and Alli Richmond.
