SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In an end to a unique two-day, 13-inning series opener, host Bryant (24-19, 11-8 America East) pushed across the winning run on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch and defeated Binghamton baseball (24-18, 10-9 AE) 9-8 Saturday afternoon at Conaty Park. The game had been suspended tied 8-8 Friday night after the sprinkler system went off for the second time in the bottom of the 12
th inning.
After recording the final out of the 12
th when play resumed Saturday, the Bearcats went down 1-2-3 in the top of the 13
th and Bryant won it in the bottom of the frame on two singles, a walk and the hit batter.
Each team scored twice in the 12
th Friday night, with Bryant rallying to tie it 8-8 after a 17-minute delay when the first set of sprinklers went off and doused the infield.   Â

th. Sophomore DH
Logan Haskell led off with a single. Junior shortstop
Isaiah Corry followed with a sacrifice bunt and both runners advanced on an infield throwing error. Senior left fielder
Cavan Tully and junior center fielder

Graduate reliever
Tommy Snyder pitched 4.1 scoreless relief innings, which allowed BU to rally from a 6-1 hole. After junior reliever
Justin Rosner worked 2.1 scoreless frames, Snyder entered and retired 12 straight at one point, allowing just one hit (single) with five strikeouts in his 4.1 innings. In all, Binghamton held Bryant off the board for nine straight innings and rallied to tie the game with three runs in the seventh and two in the ninth.
