Women’s Tennis Hosts Le Moyne Sunday

Lane-Starke Tennis Center sees sole home match of fall season

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (BUBearcats.com) - The Binghamton University women's tennis team hosts Le Moyne College at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center this Sunday, Sept. 17, for its sole home match of the fall campaign. Start time is slated for 1 p.m.

The match is the first Northeast Conference contest for the Bearcats after the team joined the league this past offseason. 

BU opened up its fall season at the US Naval Academy's Bill & Sandra Moore Invitational last weekend, Sept. 8-10. Lara Kaplan highlighted weekend action for the Bearcats in Flight A singles, winning the consolation by defeating Monmouth's Lana Brezanin 7-6 (7-3), 6-1. Natalia Aruj made it as far as the Main Draw semifinal in Flight A after taking down Lehigh's Hamsa Javagal 4-6, 6-3,10-8 before being losing by Navy's Sia Chaudry 6-4, 6-3. 

On the doubles side, Britney Korir and Valeria Gonzalez advanced to the Flight C consolation semifinal until they dropped their last match 6-3 to a duo from Mary Washington. 

Next up, the Bearcats are back on road next weekend at the Army Invitational in West Point, N.Y. The contest will be held across three days, Sept. 22-24.
