Volleyball Heads to Bryant Friday

Bearcats look to pick up third straight America East victory

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Volleyball (14-9, 4-2) is set to battle Bryant (18-6, 4-2), Friday night, Nov. 1, inside Chace Athletic Center. Match time is slated for 6 p.m. 

The contest will be broadcast on America East TV and can be followed via live stats here at binghamtonbearcats.com. 

Last time out, the Bearcats shut down UAlbany, 3-0, last Friday, Oct. 25, on the road. Binghamton out-blocked UAlbany 11-3 in the victory, its eight match this season in double-digits at net. Tsvetelina Ilieva registered her ninth double-double of the fall with a team-best 12 kills and 10 digs against the Great Danes. Misa Dlouha also posted 11 kills at .526 with just one error and a team-high six blocks. 

Lottie Scully earned her third America East Setter of the Week honor this fall, the conference announced Tuesday morning. The weekly nod is the 11th of her career for the Bearcats. Scully averaged a league-best 10.3 assists per set in Binghamton's sweep of UAlbany. She also chipped in five digs, four blocks, one service ace and one kill in the victory. 

As a team, Binghamton leads the America East with 17.17 points per set, 1.92 service aces per set and a .254 attack percentage. The Bearcats also rank second in the league with 12.96 kills, 12.04 assists and 2.30 blocks per set. 

Ilieva leads the conference with 4.79 kills, 5.57 points and .48 service aces per set. She ranks second nationally with 467.5 total points and third with 402 total kills. Dlouha is second in the league with 1.21 blocks per set and a .322 attack percentage. Scully's 702 assists this season rank first in the America East while she sits second in the conference with 8.36 assists per set. 

Bryant leads the series against Binghamton, 7-5, since 1998. The Bearcats defeated the Bulldogs, 3-1, at home earlier this season, Oct. 6. 

Up next, Binghamton hosts UMBC, Friday, Nov. 8, inside the Events Center for International Student Night and Staff Appreciation. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
