Volleyball Faces Temple Wednesday

Bearcats looks to pick up first ever win over Owls

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Volleyball (12-6, 2-1) is set to face Temple (7-9, 1-3) on the road Wednesday afternoon inside McGonigle Hall. 

The match will be broadcast on ESPN+ and can be followed via live stats here at binghamtonbearcats.com. 

Last time out, the Bearcats pulled off a tough, America East win over Bryant, 3-1, Oct. 6, at home. Tsvetelina Ilieva posted a team-high 21 kills in the victory, her fifth performance with 20 or more kills this season. Misa Dlouha and Ella Schabort also chipped in 10 kills apiece against the Bulldogs. 

Lottie Scully picked up her second consecutive conference Setter of the Week honor Tuesday morning, the tenth of her career. The junior averaged eight assists per set in two matches for Binghamton last week. Scully registered 41 assists in the win over Bryant, the third most of any America East setter in a four-set match this season. She added 14 digs, three service aces, two kills and one block across two contests. Scully ranks second in the America East with 7.7 assists per set. 

As a team, Binghamton leads the America East with 17.16 points per set and a .256 attack percentage. The Bearcats also rank second in the league with 12.98 kills per set, 11.95 assists per set, 2.38 blocks per set and 1.80 service aces per set. 

Ilieva leads the America East with 4.61 kills per set and 5.33 points per set. She ranks second nationally with 352 total points and 304 total kills. Dlouha sits second in the conference with 1.32 blocks per set to rank fifth in the country with 87 total blocks. 

Temple won the sole meeting over Binghamton, 3-0, Sept. 12, 2015, on the Owls' home court. 

Next up, the Bearcats travel to Durham, N.H., Sunday, Oct. 13, to take on AE foe New Hampshire. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
