Volleyball Set to Host Pair of Critical Conference Matches

Bearcats face UMBC Friday, UNH Sunday

VESTAL, N.Y. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Volleyball (15-9, 5-2) hosts a pair of critical America East matches inside the Events Center this weekend. The Bearcats face UMBC (7-13, 5-2) Friday night at 6 p.m. and New Hampshire (15-8, 6-2), Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. 

Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+ and can be followed via live stats here at binghamtonbearcats.com. Friday's match against UMBC is International Student & Staff Appreciation Night while Sunday's competition vs. UNH is Senior Day. The Bearcats will honor graduating student-athletes Sydney Aguirre and Tsvetelina Ilieva before first serve. 

Last time out, Binghamton earned an important conference victory at Bryant, 3-2, Friday night, Nov. 1. The Bearcats dominated the Bulldogs in blocks, 14-3, , the team's ninth match in double-digits at net this season. 

Lottie Scully earned her back-to back America East Setter of the Week honors Tuesday morning, the fourth for the junior this season and the 11th of her career. Scully averaged 8.4 assists per set in Binghamton's win over Bryant. She also chipped in nine digs, three kills and two blocks for four points.

As a team, Binghamton leads the America East with 17.04 points per set, 1.88 service aces per set and a .254 attack percentage. The Bearcats also rank second in the league with 12.84 kills, 11.92 assists and 2.32 blocks per set. 

Ilieva leads the conference with 4.72 kills, 5.50 points and .47 service aces per set. She ranks third nationally with 489.5 total points and fourth with 420 total kills. Lottie Scully ranks first in the America East with 8.36 assists per set. Misa Dlouha sits second in the league with 1.21 blocks per set and a .336 attack percentage. 

UMBC leads the all-time series over Binghamton 27-19. The Retrievers picked up wins in their last four matches against the Bearcats, including a 3-0 victory in Baltimore, Md., earlier this season, Oct. 4. 

New Hampshire owns a 29-20 series lead against Binghamton. The Wildcats won the previous match up over the Bearcats, 3-0, on their home court, Oct. 13. 

Up next, Binghamton concludes its non conference schedule at Lehigh, Wednesday, Nov. 13, in Bethlehem, Pa. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
