It is the second year in the row that Cassella has made the podium at the prestigious in-season tournament

LAS VEGAS – For the second year in a row, Brevin Cassella secured a spot on the podium at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Collegiate Wrestling Invitational after winning three matches during the tournament's first two sessions on Friday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Cassella previously finished eighth at this event in 2023, one of two Bearcats to reach the podium at what is considered one of the most prestigious in-season wrestling tournaments in the country.

Highlights
•    All five of Binghamton's wrestlers who were competing on Friday won at least one match, helping the Bearcats finish the first day 21st.
•    Cassella opened his tournament with a ranked win against No. 32 Sean Harman of Oregon State 9-3, followed by an 11-0 major decision over Iowa State's Aiden Riggins. After being defeated by No. 4 Dean Hamiti Jr. of Oklahoma State 20-5, Cassella defeated another ranked opponent in No. 26 Brody Baumann of Purdue 15-0 to reach the podium.
•    After recording two pins at Cornell's Big Red Invitational on Nov. 24, Cory Day carried his momentum into Las Vegas by pinning three opponents. Day defeated Michigan's Dzhabrail Khurshidov, Harvard's Logan Marrisal and Wyoming's Kevin Zimmer. With his three pins, Day now leads the Bearcats in falls with five.
•    Will Ebert won two matches to become the first Binghamton wrestler to reach 10 wins this season. He also added his fourth pin of 2024-25 by defeating Appalachian State's Logan Eller.
•    Micah Roes bounced back from his loss in the opening round by defeating No. 23 Jeff Strickenberger of West Virginia 9-1 for his first ranked win of the season. Roes followed that with a 7-3 victory against North Carolina State's Troy Hohman.
•    Carson Wagner had a 4-1 lead in the second period of his first match against No. 2 Caleb Smith of Nebraska before falling 8-5 in the back-and-forth contest. The sophomore would then go on to beat Appalachian State's Noah Luna 8-3.
