Bearcats earn doubles victory despite loss

Box Score BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (BUBearcats.com) - The Binghamton women's tennis team (1-8, 1-3) dropped a 5-2 decision to Marist Sunday afternoon inside the Lane-Starke Tennis Center. 

Despite the loss, the Bearcats earned the doubles victory for the first time this spring. Abby Ackroyd and Loren Cuomo defeated the Red Foxes 6-3 in the second slot while Britney Korir and Nitya Vyas took the 6-4 win at third doubles. 

Cuomo took home the sole individual victory in straight sets at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2. 

Next up, BU hosts Rider and Lehigh in back-to-back matches inside the Lane-Starke Tennis Center, Feb.17-18.
