STORY LINES
- Binghamton begins its 22
nd season as a NCAA Division I program and as a member of the America East Conference.
- Binghamton is making its third appearance at the Stetson Softball Tournament. The Bearcats also took part in the event in 2011 and 2016.
- Binghamton returns six all-conference selections, seven starting position players and four pitchers from last season's squad that finished 29-18 (13-7 AE). The Bearcats have been picked to finish second this season in the America East Preseason Poll.
- Juniors
Brianna Santos and
Lindsey Walter earned first-team all-conference honors last year – at third base and the utility position respectively. Walter was also named first-team All-Region and was an ECAC All-Star.
- Sophomore pitcher
Brianna Roberts was named the America East Rookie of the Year last season. She was also named second-team all-conference. Other Bearcat players that earned second-team all-conference honors in 2023 were current senior

Akira Kopec (shortstop) and junior
Laney Harbaugh (outfield). Fellow junior outfielder
Sarah Rende was a second-team pick in 2022.
- Boston University is currently receiving votes in the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) Preseason Poll. The Terriers – who were in the America East Conference up through 2013 – went 52-10 last year and won the Patriot League Title. In the Patriot League Preseason Poll, Boston was picked to repeat as champions.
- Infielder Kayla Roncin is the two-time Patriot League Player of the Year and was a third-team NFCA All-American in 2023. Allison Boaz, meanwhile, is the two-time Patriot League Pitcher of the Year.
- Boston leads the all-time series against Binghamton 30-11. The two team last met on March 18, 2018, with the Terriers winning 10-2 at the St. John's Tournament. It marked the first time the two teams had met since Boston left the America East Conference nine years ago.
- Playing in the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN), Stetson finished 28-28 last season. In this year's A-SUN Preseason Poll, the Hatters were picked to finish seventh out of 12 teams.
- Kami Epley was named second-team All-ASUN last season. She hit .320 for the hatters with two home runs and 12 RBI.
- Stetson leads the all-time series against the Bearcats 2-0. The Hatters won 4-2 on March 6, 2011 as well as 8-7 on March 11, 2016. Both games took place at Stetson's home in-season tournament.
- Playing in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC), Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE) finished 30-26 last season. The Cougars were the runner up at the OVC Tournament. In this season's OVC Preseason Poll, SIUE was picked to finish fifth out of 10 teams.
- Paige Rocha led the Cougars in 2013 with a .416 batting average. She also homered six times and drove in 30 runs.
- This marks the first-ever meeting between Binghamton and SIUE in softball.
