Women’s Lacrosse Takes Down New Hampshire, 20-8

Bearcats post second straight and fourth 20+ goal game of the spring

VESTAL, N.Y. (BUBearcats.com) - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (8-6, 3-1) extended its win streak to four with a 20-8 defeat of AE opponent New Hampshire, Saturday afternoon at the Bearcat Sports Complex.

The 20+ goal game was the second straight for BU after they delivered a 23-4 rout of Youngstown State, April 6, and the fourth of the 2024 season.

Binghamton led the score card, owning a 37-22 shots advantage and converting on 4-5 of its free position shots.

Olivia Muscolino led the Bearcats with eight points for the second consecutive game on a career-high six goals and two assists. Madison Murphy followed with five points on four goals and one assist while Emma Blloshmi posted her second straight four-goal game.

Carla Curth registered four points on one goal and three assists. Kristen Scheidel came in just behind her teammate with three points on one goal and two assists. Hayley Weltner and Mia Forte also found the back of the net twice for BU.

Sofia Salgado matched her career-best with 12 saves against UNH, her fifth double-digit performance of the season.

Binghamton started off on the right foot with four straight goals in the first quarter, two coming from Blloshmi. The Wildcats were able to get on the board with 5:49 remaining in the frame but the Bearcats added on two more to lead 6-1. BU held the visitors to four shots in the first 15 while taking 11 themselves.

Both teams traded scores in the second quarter until New Hampshire notched its first back-to-back goals to cut the lead in half, 8-4. Muscolino and UNH's Allie Connerty found the netting next before Binghamton went on its longest scoring streak of the contest with seven straight to go up 16-5.

The Wildcats attempted to chip away at the Bearcats lead with two more goals to finish off third quarter scoring.

BU added to its advantage four more times while New Hampshire could only tack on one more, making the score 20-8 after 60 minutes of play.

Next up, Binghamton travels to Baltimore, Md. for its final road game of the year against UMBC, Saturday, April 20. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
