Bearcats competed at Penn Relays, North Florida and Cornell

PHILADELPHIA, Pa./JACKSONVILLE, Fla./ ITHACA, N.Y. – It was a busy final weekend of the regular season for the Binghamton track & field teams as they traveled to Penn Relays, the East Coast Relays and the Cornell/Big Red Invitational. There was no team scoring at any of the competitions.

On Thursday at Penn Relays, redshirt freshman Brian Luciano was second overall in the College Division men's hammer throw with a distance of 203-10. It marks the third meet in a row that he has surpassed 200 feet.

Friday and Saturday featured the Bearcat sprinters and relay teams at the East Coast Relays, which were hosted by North Florida. The Binghamton men's 4x400 relay team was fifth overall with a season-best time of 3:12.62. That quartet featured seniors Marcus Johnson and Oliver Madariaga, junior Joey Cardascia and sophomore Samson Joseph.

Johnson went on to finish seventh overall in the 400 hurdles (52.42).

The women's 4x100 relay team was 13th overall with a time of 46.36 – which was just .06 seconds off their season-best time. That quartet included graduate students Gabby Hyatt and Sophia Morone, freshman Tatum Norris and sophomore Angie Mesa-Espinosa.

At Cornell, freshman Nathaniel David was the top men's finisher, winning the 200 (22.14). On the women's side, fellow freshman Vicky Mordvinova won the 800 (2:16.55).

Up next for Binghamton is the America East Outdoor Championships at UMBC this coming Saturday-Sunday.
