Track & Field Takes Part in Pair of Meets

Bearcats compete at Colonial Relays and Delaware Invite

WILLIAMSBURG, Va./ NEWARK, Del. – The Binghamton men's and women's track and field teams competed at a pair of events this weekend. Both teams finished in the top 10 at William & Mary's Colonial Relays, while four Bearcats finished in the top five at the Delaware Invitational.
 
The women's team placed sixth at the Colonial Relays. Jenna Chan won the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.88, while Alyssa Armitage won the pole vault at 12-10.5. Additionally, the group of Gabby Hyatt, Sophia Morone, Hillary Abankwa and Vicky Mordvinova won the 1600 sprint medley with a time of 4:06.22.
 
The men's team, meanwhile, finished eighth overall. Marcus Johnson won two events for Binghamton, taking first in the 400 hurdles at 52.76 and the triple jump at 47-0. Liam Cody won the 1,500 at 3:58.17.
 
At the Delaware Invitational, Brian Luciano won the hammer throw at 188-4.25. It is the second-longest throw for a freshman in program history. Luciano set the freshman record for Binghamton the prior week at Raleigh Relays, where he had a throw of 196-6.
 
Up next for Binghamton is the Bucknell Outdoor Challenge, which takes place from April 13-14 in Lewisburg, Pa.
