VESTAL, N.Y. – Sophomore designated player
Emma Lawson drove in six runs while freshman catcher
Elisa Allen homered twice and had five RBI, powering Binghamton (22-10) to a 10-1, 9-1 sweep over St. Bonaventure (2-25) in a non-conference softball doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. With the pair of victories – that were both completed in six innings – the Bearcats now have a season-high, seven-game winning streak.
Lawson hit a team-best .750 during the day, going 3-for-4 in the process. She drove in a run each time she came up to bat.
Allen, meanwhile, hit .571 (4-for-7) and is now tied for the team lead with six home runs so far this season. She also has driven in a team-best 22 runs.
The Bearcats other clutch hitter was freshman pinch hitter
Sami Levine, who was 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI. She now has three pinch-hit home runs this year.
In the opener, Allen keyed a four-run, bottom of the third inning that put the Bearcats ahead 4-0. She drilled a three-run homer into the outfield net during that frame.
The two teams traded runs in the fourth inning before the Bearcats finished off the game with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lawson had a two-run single and Levine had an RBI double during that stretch. It was Allen, however, who finished the game with a towering two-run home run well over the left field scoreboard.
Allen finished the first game a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Her four hits, two home runs and five RBI are all her career highs. She is the first Binghamton player to drive in five runs in a game since Makayla Alvarez against Colgate on April 2, 2019.
On the mound, senior pitcher
Allison L'Amoreaux scattered one run on four hits and struck out eight batters to improve to 8-2. The loss was tagged to Emily Phelan, who is now 1-14.
Redshirt junior designated player
Lindsey Walter was 2-for-2 with a walk and scored twice during  the first game.
In the nightcap, Binghamton broke open a scoreless game with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Lawson capped the frame with a two-run single.
Lawson's next at-bat came in the bottom of the fourth inning when the Bearcats plated two more runs to go up 5-0. She reached base on a fielder's choice which allowed junior outfielder
Sarah Rende to score on the play.
St. Bonaventure got a run back in the top of the sixth inning but Binghamton ended the game with four more runs in the bottom of the same inning. Lawson opened the scoring with another RBI single and junior outfielder
Bella Farina followed with an RBI triple. One batter later, Levine ended the game with her two-run homer that cleared the left-field fence.
Sophomore pitcher
Olivia Kennedy improved her record to 5-2 after holding the Bonnies to one run on four hits and striking out six batters. The loss was tagged to Tori McGraw, who is now 0-3.
Walter and redshirt junior shortstop
Gabby Guerrero each finished the day 2-for-3 and scored three runs. Freshman second baseman
Maddy Dodig was 2-for-6 (.333), scored twice and extended her hitting streak to a team-best five games.
As a team, the Bearcats hit .373 against the Bonnies and had seven extra-base hits. L'Amoreaux and Kennedy, meanwhile, compiled a 1.17 ERA and held St. Bonaventure to a .182 batting average.
Binghamton hosts Maine in a three-game America East series this Saturday-Sunday.
