FAIRFAX, Va. – Binghamton sent a handful of athletes to the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at George Mason University. The three-day meet concluded on Sunday with the Bearcat women's squad finishing in 14
th place among scoring teams and the men placing 29
th overall.
On the women's side, sophomore
Lucciana Robertson was the top finisher, placing finishing second in the high jump (5-7). Third-place finishes were turned in by sophomore
Alyssa Armitage in the pole vault (12-8) and senior
Gianna Hoose in the hammer (177-0). Hoose's distance was her personal-best.
Sophomore
Angie Mesa-Espinosa was a finalist in both the 100 and 200. She finished sixth in the 100 (12.03) and eighth in the 200 with a personal-best time of 24.90.
On the men's side, freshman
Putu Sutayasa placed sixth overall in the long jump (23-0 ½).
Binghamton now awaits the official qualification lists for next week's NCAA East Region Meet. The final rankings will come out later this week.
