VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton volleyball team (7-10, 2-1) gets set for an America East Conference matchup on the road against Bryant (10-9, 2-1) on Sunday at 1 p.m., in the Chace Athletic Center.

- Bryant currently leads the all-time series 7-6.
- In 2024, the Bearcats swept the Bulldogs with a 3-1 victory at home and a 3-2 win in Rhode Island.
THEY CALL THAT A WINNING STREAK
Binghamton won two America East Conference matches last weekend at the Events Center. On Oct. 3, the Bearcats claimed a 3-1 victory over UMBC. Binghamton then followed up with a 3-2 victory on Oct. 5 against NJIT.
HONORS CONTINUE TO ROLL OUT
For the third time this season,
Maya Coblentz-Brown was named the America East Conference's Rookie of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday. Coblentz-Brown began her week with four kills and two total blocks against Colgate on Sept. 30. She then followed that with 12 kills and two total blocks in Binghamton's 3-1 win over UMBC. To close out her week, Coblentz-Brown recorded 20 kills while hitting a career-best .409, along with two digs and three total blocks against NJIT. That was the second time this season that she posted at least 20 kills in a match after she put up 21 against Army on Sept. 7.
Coblentz-Brown is the second Bearcat to be named America East Rookie of the Week on at least three occasions during a season, joining Giulia Bonifacio, who received the honor seven times in 2022. The other two instances Coblentz-Brown was named Rookie of the Week this season came on Sept. 9 and 16.
AIMING FOR THE TOP SPOT
Merima Smajlovic and
Viktoria Dimitrova each sit in the top five for total points this season, ranking fourth and fifth respectively with an average 3.95 and 3.62 points per set. Smajlovic also sits third in kills with 229 in 64 sets played thus far. Bryant's Arianna Ugolini leads the America East with 274 kills and is second in points per set averaging 4.37. The Bearcats lead the conference in hitting percentage (.222) and in assists per set (11.86).
DOUBLE THE TROUBLE
With 12 kills and 18 digs against NJIT, Smajlovic reached 10 double-doubles in a season for the first time in her career. The senior outside hitter's previous season-high for double-doubles was seven, which she set in 2024 while playing for Seattle.
SETTING THE STAGE
In Binghamton's victory against NJIT,
Alexandra Koleva recorded 43 assists, her most as a Bearcat. The graduate setter now ranks fourth in the America East in assists per set at 6.27. Koleva has posted at least 36 assists in each of her last two matches, and has also crossed 400 for the season as she enters Sunday's match with 401.
