VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton golf team is preparing to complete its fall season as the Bearcats are competing at Holy Cross' Crusader Invitational Monday through Tuesday at Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Mass.
 
Binghamton is one of 12 teams who are competing at this event. Joining the Bearcats in the field are hosts Holy Cross, who will have two teams competing, Bryant, Fordham, Hartford, Le Moyne, Massachusetts, Merrimack, New Haven, Providence and Siena.
 
This is the first time Binghamton is competing in a tournament since the Bearcats finished in second place at the, the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, on Oct. 6 at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y. It marked the third year in a row that Binghamton finished runner up at its home event.
 
Leading the way for the Bearcats was Brandon Conner, who finished second on the individual leaderboard at that event for the second time in three years. The senior shot 71-66 = 137/7-under par, tying his own program record for the lowest score in 36 holes, which he previously set at the 2023 Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational. His tally of 66/6-under par in the second round also tied the program's lowest individual score in a round.
 
Conner was not the only Bearcat to tie that single-round record at that event, however. Sean Shen also shot 66 in the first round of the tournament, before finishing tied for 11th at 66-76 = 142/2-under par. That is Shen's lowest score for a 36-hole tournament.

Harrison Blech also tied for 11th at 69-73 = 142/2-under par, matching his lowest 36-hole score from the 2024 Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, where he finished a career-best tied for seventh.
 
Competition on both days is set to begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
