Golfer receives honor for the fourth time in his career

VESTAL, N.Y. – After picking up a runner-up finish in his second event of the season, Brandon Conner has been named a Prime Performer for the month of September by the Northeast Conference (NEC), the league announced Thursday.

This is the fourth time that the senior has received this honor from the league. The Cincinnati, Ohio native previously earned that recognition twice during the 2023-24 season (Oct. 5, 2023, and Oct. 31, 2024), before receiving the honor a third time on April 9, 2025. Since joining the NEC in 2023, the Binghamton golf team has had a golfer named a prime performer on seven occasions.

For the first month of the season, Conner posted a stroke average of 73.55 over the course of three tournaments. His best performance came at Delaware's Blue Hen Intercollegiate on Sept. 16, when he finished second out of 69 golfers at 72-69-71 = 212/4-under par. This was Conner's fourth top 10 finish of his collegiate career. His final tally is tied for the fourth-lowest score relative to par through 54 holes in program history.

Conner and the Bearcats are now preparing to compete in their home event, the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational. The 36-hole tournament goes from Sunday through Monday at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y.

Matthews Auto is the presenting sponsor of Bearcats Golf.
