Women’s Basketball Heads to Akron

Bearcats and Zips Square Off Thursday at 6 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (2-2) was defeated 120-50 at sixth-ranked Michigan on Tuesday night. It marked the highest-ranked opponent Binghamton has faced since 2018. Junior guard Bella Pucci scored a game-high 19 points and has now reached double figures in scoring all four games this season.

- Pucci leads the Bearcats with 15.3 points and 2.8 steals per game. Junior forward Kendall Bennett is second with 10.5 points per night and is pulling down a team-high 6.5 rebounds. Junior guard Kaia Goode, meanwhile, is dishing out a team-best 4.0 assists per game.

- As a team, Binghamton ranks No. 14 in the nation with 15.3 steals per game. The Bearcats are also No. 39 in turnover margin (+8.25).

- Akron (0-4) lost 76-55 at Cleveland State on Sunday. Keiryn McGuff led the Zips with a 15-point, six-rebound, two-steal performance. 

- Ni'Rah Clark leads Akron with 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while Monique Mitchell is averaging 11.0 points. Shaena Brew is first on the Zips with 3.5 assists per game. 

- Akron leads the all-time series 2-1 but the Bearcats won the most recent meeting with a 66-50 home triumph on Nov. 7, 2024. Current junior guard Yanniah Boyd netted 14 points in the victory while Goode finished with 10 points.
