STORY LINES
- Binghamton heads to the University of Florida/Bubly Invitational this coming weekend. With games on Friday-Sunday, the event features a pair of nationally ranked teams - both of which advanced to the Women's College World Series (WCWS) last year - as well as three squads that compete in major conferences.
- Binghamton (3-2) went 3-2 at the Stetson/Frank Griffin Classic last weekend. Junior first baseman Emma Lawson - the current America East Player of the Week - hit .533 (8-for-15) with four doubles and seven RBI. Sophomore pitcher Delaney Glover - the current America East Pitcher of the Week - went 1-0 with a perfect 0.00 ERA in 9.0 innings pitched. Sophomore catcher Elisa Allen, meanwhile, homered twice and drove in six runs.
- Graduate student outfielder Brianna Santos carries a team-best five-game hitting streak going into the Florida/Bubly Invitational. She hit .412 (7-for-17) at the Steton/Frank Griffin Classic, scored five times and posted a pair of extra-base hits.Â
- Senior third baseman Sarah Rende went 4-for-12 (.333) at Stetson, hit two doubles and drew five walks. She finished the weekend with a .500 on-base percentage.
- Lawson, Santos and Allen are three of Binghamton's five players who were chosen to this year's America East Preseason All-Conference Team. They are joined by graduate student utility player Lindsey Walter as well as junior pitcher Brianna Roberts. Walter scored three runs at Stetson last weekend while Roberts went 1-1 on the mound.
- Host Florida is currently ranked second in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 25 Poll. The Gators were the preseason No. 1 pick and finished third last year at the WCWS.Â
- Florida marks the highest-ranked opponent that Binghamton has faced since it squared off against then top-ranked Tennessee back on Feb. 14, 2014 at the South Florida Tournament.
- Duke is currently ranked No. 12 in the NFCA Top 25 Poll. The Blue Devils, who also advanced to the WCWS, were picked seventh in the preseason poll.
- The Bearcats will face Florida and Duke on the same day at the Bubly Invitational (Saturday). The last time Binghamton faced a pair of nationally-ranked teams on the same day came back on Feb. 28, 2015 at the Arizona State Tournament. The host Sun Devils were ranked No. 22 while Michigan was ranked third.Â
- Florida competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) while Duke and Boston College are members of the ACC. Providence, meanwhile, is part of the BIG EAST conference.

- The Eagles finished the 2024 season with a 30-24 record (9-15 ACC).
- Binghamton trails in the all-time series against Boston College 2-1. The two squads last met at the 2015 Georgia Southern Tournament, with the Eagles winning a pair of games by scores of 13-11 and 5-4. The Bearcats' lone win in the series was a 2-0 triumph back on Feb. 17, 2012 at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament.
