Wrestling to Honor Class of ’25, Host Sacred Heart

Bearcats shut out Morgan State 46-0 in their last dual on Friday

VESTAL, N.Y. – Coming off its first shutout victory since 2021, the Binghamton wrestling team turns its attention to hosting Sacred Heart in its final home dual of the season on Sunday at 2 p.m., in the Events Center.

The last time the Bearcats took the mat on Friday; they won all 10 of their bouts in a 46-0 win at Morgan State in the first-ever dual between the two programs. The last time Binghamton shut out its opponent in a dual was Nov. 7, 2021, when the Bearcats defeated New Jersey City University 53-0.

The Bearcats posted five technical falls and earned bonus points in seven of the matches. Cory Day picked up his 11th pin of the season against Rasheen Duncan to close out the dual. Meanwhile, in his first appearance in a dual, Dillon Arrick got a 21-4 technical fall against Jimmie Jones in the 133 lb. bout. Another technical fall came from Jordan Brown, who defeated Cooper Lockhart at 165 lbs., 17-2 for his first dual win of the season.

Before Sunday's dual, Binghamton will honor Brevin Cassella, Ivan Garcia, Nate Lucier and Micah Roes for their contributions as part of the team's Senior Day ceremony. After the match, the team invites youth wrestlers to meet and greet the team as part of Youth Day. All of Binghamton's home wrestling matches this season include free admission on behalf of JKS Home Improvement.

Sacred Heart Notes
•    The only dual win of the season for Sacred Heart came in its their season opener on Nov. 3, when the Pioneers defeated Presbyterian 32-11.
•    Andrew Fallon was Sacred Heart's lone placewinner at the 2024 EIWA Championships. Fallon finished in sixth place, just one spot shy of earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Wrestling Championships.
•    At the Big Red Invitational on Nov. 24, Sacred Heart had nine wrestlers finish in the top four of their weight class bracket. Among them was Dakota Asuncion, who won his bracket at 157 lbs., with a record of 3-1 during the event.
