Women’s Lacrosse Dismantles Manhattan, 19-4

Bearcats register season-best 28 points, 19 goals over the Jaspers

RIVERDALE, N.Y. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Women's Lacrosse (3-5) earned a dominant victory over Manhattan (1-5), 19-4, Wednesday afternoon at Gaelic Park. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 
The Bearcats opened up the first quarter on a 4-0 run started by senior defender Angelina Suau's first career goal off a midfield ground ball pickup. Manhattan found the back of the net once before Binghamton ended the frame with three consecutive scores to lead, 7-1. 

Emma Blloshmi and Jess Robinson tacked on their second goals of the game to start the second quarter up 9-1. The Jaspers then registered their second of the day to cut the Bearcats' advantage to seven. Brooke Bort responded with her first career goal to begin a 6-0 run for Binghamton spanning into the third quarter. 

Manhattan put up its first score of the half with 1:59 remaining in the third frame before Carla Curth converted on an assist from Robinson to extend the team's lead, 16-3. Bearcats' netted three in the fourth quarter, including a career first from Addie Lowery, compared to the Jaspers one to claim a 19-4 victory.

GAME NOTES 
  • Ten Bearcats registered a season-high 28 points, 19 goals and nine assists against Manhattan. Binghamton also posted a season-best 13 caused turnovers and 33 shots. 
  • Olivia Muscolino led the Bearcats with a campaign-high seven points on three goals and one assist. The performance is her second consecutive and 26th career hat trick. Muscolino is Binghamton's all-time points (184) and goals (132) leader. 
  • Emma Blloshmi recorded her eighth hat trick in eight games with four goals vs. Manhattan. The performance is her fourth straight with four or more goals. Blloshmi converted on both her free position attempts to rank second nationally with 2.25 free position goals per game. 
  • Carla Curth matched her career-high with four goals against the Jaspers. She tacked on two assists for a season-best six points. Jess Robinson also equalled her career-best with four points on two goals and two assists. 
  • Three Bearcats registered their first career goals against Manhattan. In her 50th collegiate game, senior defender Angelina Suau scooped up a midfield ground ball and ran downfield to find the back of the net for the first time. Freshman Brooke Bort and sophomore Addie Lowery also collected their first career scores this afternoon. 
  • Mia Forte tacked on her first pair of goals this season in today's victory. The midfielder scored for the first time this spring against Brown, March 9. 
  • Seven Bearcats registered 13 caused turnovers against Manhattan with Angelina Suau, Gaby Castillo and Gretel Cassell earning three apiece.
