VESTAL, N.Y. – Another week brings another accolade for the Binghamton men's lacrosse team, as the America East Conference announced Monday that Connor Winters has been chosen as its Goalkeeper of the Week.
 
Winters had two of his strongest performances for the Bearcats last week. First, the goalie made what was at the time a season-high 17 saves and led Binghamton with six ground balls to help the Bearcats defeat in-state foe St. Bonaventure in overtime 6-5 on Tuesday. He followed that up by setting a new season high with 19 saves while collecting an additional three ground balls in Binghamton's matchup at No. 12 Harvard on Saturday.
 
The senior continues to move closer to a couple of program records held by Binghamton Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Kevin McKeown. With his combined 36 saves last week, Winters is up to 463 for his collegiate career, 46 behind McKeown's record of 509. Winters also earned his 19th career victory in goal at St. Bonaventure, putting him five behind McKeown's program record of 24.
 
Previously, Winters has received a weekly award from the conference four times throughout his career. However, this is the first time he has been named Goalkeeper of the Week as that honor was introduced before the start of the 2025 season. Winters has been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week three times (March 20 and April 17 of 2023 and April 8 of 2024) and Rookie of the Week once (March 13, 2023).
 
This is the fourth week in a row that Binghamton has received a weekly honor from the America East. Matthew Rincon was first named Defensive Player of the Week back on March 10 following his stellar performances against Siena and Stony Brook. Gage Adams followed that by being named Offensive Player of the Week on March 17 after the attackman recorded three goals and three assists in the Bearcats win at UMass Lowell. Lastly, Anthony Bilello was named Defensive Player of the Week on March 24 following the defender's effort against NJIT, when he collected four ground balls and caused two turnovers in a win for the Bearcats.
 
Binghamton begins its final month of the regular season by hosting defending America East champion UAlbany on Saturday at 3 p.m., at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Saturday's contest is the JR Gaudet Youth Game. The Bearcats will honor Gaudet, a former player of theirs who passed away while in the line of duty for the Binghamton Fire Department on Feb. 12.
