Women’s Basketball Travels to Bryant for AE Quarterfinal

Bearcats and Bulldogs Tip Off Thursday at 6 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (15-14, 7-9 AE) is the No. 6 seed in the Jersey Mike's America East Tournament and is making its  23rd appearance in the event. The Bearcats have reached the semifinal round eight times (2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2020 & 2024).

- Bryant (16-13, 9-7 AE) is the No. 3 seed and hosts the Bearcats in an America East quarterfinal game for the second consecutive year. Binghamton was the No. 5 seed last year and defeated No. 4 Bryant 56-51.

- Redshirt junior guard Jadyn Weltz and sophomore guard Bella Pucci were each named third-team all-conference on Wednesday afternoon. Pucci was also chosen to the All-Defensive Team while Weltz made an appearance on the All-Academic Team. Previously, Weltz earned second-team all-conference honors last year and was chosen to both the All-Rookie and All-Defensive Teams in 2023.

- The Bearcats wrapped up the regular season with a 72-42 home victory over UMass Lowell on Saturday afternoon. Redshirt Weltz led the Bearcats with 19 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Pucci contributed 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. 

- As a team, Binghamton leads the America East with 8.7 steals per game. The Bearcats also rank second in the conference in rebounding with 34.7 boards per game and third in scoring defense, allowing just 57.7 points per contest.

- Bryant is led by Mia Mancini, who was named second-team all-conference. In addition, Nia Scott was chosen to the All-Rookie Team while Olivia Fernandez landed on the All-Rookie Team.

- The Bulldogs defeated Maine 68-57 at home on Saturday evening. Scott led Bryant with 18 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Breezie Williams (13 points), Mimi Rubino (11 points), and Ali Brigham (10 points) also reached double figures in the win.

- Scott leads the America East in rebounding with 8.6 boards per game, while Brigham ranks second in blocks, averaging 1.2 per contest. Mancini is Bryant's top scorer, ranking eighth in the conference with 11.1 points per game. She also sits fifth in assists with 3.2 per game.

- As a team, Bryant leads the conference in rebounding with an average of 35.3 boards per game. The Bulldogs also sit fourth in both assists (13.4 apg.) and blocks (2.72 bpg.).
Bryant swept both regular-season meetings against Binghamton, winning 68-54 at the Events Center on Jan. 25 as well as 68-62 at home on Feb. 8. Pucci averaged a team-best 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds across the two matchups.
