Allen and Kennedy earn AE Softball Weekly Awards

Bearcat duo played a pivotal role in DH sweep at Maine

VESTAL, N.Y. – Sophomore catcher Elisa Allen has been named the America East Softball Player of the Week while junior pitcher Olivia Kennedy earned the conference's Pitcher of the Week award. The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.

Allen went 5-for-7 (.714) with four home runs and six RBI during the Bearcats' doubleheader sweep at Maine last Friday. Her slugging percentage was a staggering 2.429 and with an additional walk, she finished the two games with a .750 on-base percentage as well as a 3.179 OPS. 

For the season, Allen leads the America East with 14 home runs, 34 RBI, a .793 slugging percentage as well as a 1.184 OPS. In her last three games, Allen has homered five times.

Olivia Kennedy was the only pitcher in the America East this week to throw a complete-game shutout. In 7.0 innings of work against Maine on Friday, she scattered just two hits and allowed five total base runners. She also struck out seven batters.

Binghamton heads to UMass Lowell for a three-game conference series Friday-Saturday.
