VESTAL, N.Y. -- The Binghamton Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held the Better Together Games on Thursday, March 27 at the Events Center. The annual Better Together Games are an America East initiative focused on creating more mentally healthy environments for student-athletes across all 9 America East campuses through education, outreach, events, and more. It was a great event where the student-athletes came together to mingle and not worry about all things school and sport. It was open to all student-athletes and they were broken up into teams and participated in various field games and stations.
"The Better Together Games are always such a great way for student athletes to interact within the entire athletic department and not only within their teams." said Erin Waters, senior women's track and field student-athlete. "This year's Better Together Games were successful in allowing student athletes to de stress by competing in a variety of activities!"
The Better Together games began as the signature program of America East's mental health awareness initiative started in 2019. The games took a hiatus during 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. The games were designed to pit student-athletes of all class years, genders and sports against each other in activities that will promote a fun, positive and inclusive environment.
