Softball Ranked No. 24 in D1Softball.com Mid-Major Poll

Bearcats appear in rankings for the second time this season

VESTAL, N.Y. - For the second time this season, the Binghamton softball team (25-11, 11-2 AE) is ranked in the D1Softball.com Top-25 Mid-Major Poll. The Bearcats appear at the  No. 24 slot this week.

The D1Softball.com Top 25 Mid-Major Poll is now in its second season. Out of the 309 NCAA Division 1 softball programs, every team outside of the Power 4 Conferences (ACC, Big 10, SEC and Big-12) is eligible to be included in the mid-major rankings. The Bearcats are the first team from the America East Conference ever to appear in the poll.

Binghamton first cracked the D1softball.com Mid-Major Poll back on March 4. The Bearcats were ranked No. 25 that week.

Heading into its home doubleheader against Cornell this afternoon, Binghamton has won its past eight games. In the process, the Bearcats have opened up a 1.5-game lead in the America East standings. 

In addition to their mid-major ranking, the Bearcats' current RPI is No. 96 out of the 309 Division 1 softball programs.
