STORY LINES

- Binghamton (20-11, 6-2 AE) swept a three-game series this past weekend against visiting Bryant, winning by scores of 10-2 (6 innings), 8-6 and 9-0 (5 innings). Junior first baseman Emma Lawson - the current America East Player of the Week - hit .556 (5-for-9) with a home run and seven RBI. Freshman designated player Rachel Carey - the reigning conference Rookie of the Week - hit a pair of home runs while junior pitcher Brianna Roberts was 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA.

- Lawson leads the America East in batting (.387), RBI (31) and OPS (1.078). Carey is top with a .686 slugging percentage and is second with nine home runs. Sophomore catcher Elisa Allen, meanwhile, has hit a conference-best 10 home runs so far this year and is tied for second with 28 RBI.

- Graduate student outfielder Brianna Santos ranks third in the America East with a .364 batting average. She is also first with both 39 hits and 25 runs scored. Fellow graduate student outfielder Lindsey Walter is second with 24 runs scored and currently has a team-high and career-best 10-game hitting streak.

- On the mound, Roberts leads the America East with 10 wins (she is 10-2) and a 2.40 ERA. She is also third with 83 strikeouts. Fellow junior pitcher Olivia Kennedy is fifth with 76 strikeouts.

- As a team, Binghamton leads the America East in batting (.286) and pitching (3.23 ERA). The Bearcats are also second with a .962 fielding percentage. 

- In the national statistics, Binghamton is No. 29 with 1.26 home runs per game. The Bearcats are also No. 36 with a 2.38 strikeouts to walk ratio.

- Binghamton's RPI ranking is currently 101 out of 303 NCAA Division I softball programs. The Bearcats have also been ranked No. 25 in the March 4 D1Softbal.com Mid-Major Poll.

- All five of Binghmaton's America East Preseason All-Conference selections have lived up to their billing so far this year. Those picks include Lawson, Allen, Roberts, Santos and Walter.

- Maine (7-27, 0-9 AE) split a doubleheader at Stonehill on Tuesday, winning the opener 11-9 before dropping the nightcap 7-6. Gabby Papushka went 5-for-7 during the doubleheader, homered twice and drove in five runs.

- Immy Gie leads the Black Bears and ranks fifth in the America East with a .333 batting average. Papuska is tied for second with 28 RBI and ranks third with 22 runs scored.

- As a team, Maine ranks fourth in the conference with a 4.60 ERA. The Black Bears are also fifth in fielding percentage (.940) and sixth in batting (.215).

- Maine leads the all-time series against Binghamton 37-35. Last season, however, the Bearcats swept a three-game series at home (April 14-15) and took a 3-2 decision in a second-round America East Tournament game. Lawson homered in the playoff game while Walter batted a team-best .556 (5-for-9) during the regular-season series.

- Through their first eight conference games this season, the Bearcats are hitting .384. Binghamton has homered 21 times against America East opponents and has scored 10+ runs four times. In addition, four of the Bearcats' six victories have been decided in less than seven innings.
