Softball Lands Four NFCA All-Region Selections

Roberts, Lawson, Allen and Carey honored for standout seasons

VESTAL, N.Y. – Junior pitcher Brianna Roberts, junior first baseman Emma Lawson, sophomore catcher Elisa Allen and freshman designated player Rachel Carey have each earned All-Northeast Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) for the 2025 season. Roberts and Lawson were named to the first team while Allen and Carey were chosen to the third team.

The NFCA divides the country into 10 geographic regions for its Division I honors. This is the first season that Binghamton has been a part of the Northeast Region. The Bearcats were formerly a part of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Including Binghamton, there are 35 Division I programs in the Northeast Region this year.

Roberts continues to add to her slew of honors this season. She was named both the America East Pitcher of the Year and as well as the America East Tournament's Most Outstanding Player last week. She is currently 21-2 with a 1.98 ERA. Roberts ranks No. 19 in the nation in victories, No. 34 in ERA and is No. 11 with six shutouts. She also led the America East this season in wins, ERA and strikeouts (163).

Lawson was named first-team all-conference last week and was also chosen to the America East All-Tournament Team. She is batting a team-best .381 with nine home runs and 47 RBI. Lawson also has a .667 slugging percentage as well as a .435 on-base percentage. At the national level, she ranks No. 41 with 0.31 doubles per game.

Allen was named the America East Player of the Year after breaking the Binghamton program records with 23 home runs and 56 RBI. Her current slugging percentage is .884 while her on-base percentage is .449. On the national level, Allen is third in home runs per game (0.41), No. 20 in slugging percentage as well as No. 24 with 1.17 RBI per game.

Carey, meanwhile, was named the America East Rookie of the Year and joined Roberts, Lawson and Allen as first-team all-conference selections. She is currently hitting .317 with 11 home runs and 42 RBI. Carey is the first Binghamton freshman to be named to an All-Region team since Jessica Phillips was a second-team pick back in 2010.

This marks the first career appearance for all four of the Bearcats' All-Region selections. The four All-Region selections are also the most by Binghamton in a single season since it moved up to the NCAA Division I level in 2002.

Binghamton (36-12, 16-2 AE) won the America East championship this past weekend and earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Bearcats will take part in the Oregon Regional starting on Friday at 5 pm EST against Stanford. Binghamton is the No. 3 seed in the Oregon Regional.
