Softball Tops in Final AE Stat Rankings

Bearcats first in batting, pitching and fielding during 2025 season

VESTAL, N.Y. – The America East has concluded its 2025 softball season and Binghamton has swept all three major team statistical rankings. The Bearcats ranked first with a .304 batting average, a 2.80 ERA as well as a .966 fielding percentage. This marks the first time in conference history that the same team has finished a season leading in all three major statistical categories.

Binghamton posted the highest team batting average for the second time in three seasons - and fifth time in program history. The Bearcats have now led the conference in fielding percentage three straight seasons. In terms of ERA, this is the first time that Binghamton has led the America East in that category.

The Bearcats' batting average this season is its third-best in program history while their fielding percentage ties for the third-highest performance. In terms of ERA, this season marked Binghamton's lowest since 2013.

Junior first baseman Emma Lawson won the America East batting title with a .379 average. She is the third Bearcat ever to finish the season ranked first, joining Jessica Phillips (.435 in 2011) and graduate student Lindsey Walter (.414 in 2023). In addition, Lawson tied for first in the conference with 16 doubles and was second in slugging percentage (.660), hits (58), RBI (51) and OPS (1.093). Also, her nine home runs tied for seventh and her .433 on-base percentage ranked fifth.

Sophomore catcher Elisa Allen - the 2025 America East Player of the Year - finished the season ranked first in home runs (23), RBI (56), slugging percentage (.852) and OPS (1.298). She is the second straight Binghamton player to lead the conference in home runs (Shelby Carvalho hit 10 last year) and the fifth player overall. Allen is also the fifth Bearcat to lead the America East in RBI and the first since graduate student outfielder Brianna Santos, who drove in 39 runs in 2023.

In addition to breaking the Binghamton single-season program records for home runs and RBI, Allen posted the second-highest home run total in America East history as well as the fourth-best RBI total.

Junior pitcher Brianna Roberts - who was both the America East Pitcher of the Year as well as the AE Tournament Most Outstanding Player - topped the conference with both 21 wins as well as 163 strikeouts. She was also a close second with a 2.44 ERA. Roberts is the first Binghamton player ever to lead the conference in both wins and strikeouts.

Roberts broke the Binghamton single-season record for victories in a season and with a 21-4 record, tied for the second-highest winning percentage (.840) in America East history.

Walter and Santos also finished first in a statistical ranking this season. Walter scored a conference-best 41 runs while Santos was first with 62 hits. Binghamton's other stat leader was freshman pitcher Savanna McHale, who posted three saves.

Binghamton (36-14, 16-2 AE) swept the America East regular-season and tournament championships for the first time in program history. The Bearcats returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015, earning a three seed in the Oregon Regional.

The Bearcats also became the first team in America East history to sweep all four major awards outright. In addition to Allen and Roberts, freshman designated player Rachel Carey was the Rookie of the Year and Jess Bump earned her second straight Coach of the Year honor.
