VESTAL, N.Y. –
Liam Ferris has received another accolade for his performance both on the field and in the classroom as the attackman was named a Scholar All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Tuesday.
In order to be considered for this honor, a Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. That individual must have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. The player must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player.
In 2025, Ferris closed out his collegiate lacrosse career with his strongest season. While serving as one of the team captains, the attackman led the Bearcats in goals (36) and points (48), both career highs. Ferris recorded a hat trick eight times, including three games where he scored four goals. The Glenmont, N.Y., native also led the America East Conference in both shots (152) and shots per game (10.86), while ranking second in the league in goals per game (2.57) and points per game (3.43). Additionally, Ferris set career highs in both ground balls (25) and caused turnovers (5). Ferris ultimately earned First Team All-Conference honors from the America East.
In the classroom, Ferris found just as much success. The graduate student posted a GPA of 3.50 this past spring, bringing his cumulative GPA to 3.59. He would go on to be selected to the America East All-Academic Team for his efforts, before graduating in May with his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance.
Ferris becomes the eighth Bearcat overall and fourth in the last four years to be named a Scholar All-American by the USILA. The previous seven honorees are current Binghamton Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Kevin McKeown in 2004, Derrick Danieu in 2011, Tom Moore in 2017, Dan Mottes in 2020, Teddy Dolan in 2022 and both Matthew DeSouza and Thomas Greenblatt in 2023.
