VESTAL, N.Y. – D1Softball.com has released its 2026 Preseason Mid-Major Poll and Binghamton is ranked No. 16. The Bearcats, who finished the 2025 campaign ranked No. 17, begin their season at the South Carolina Tournament Feb. 6-8. 

The D1Softball.com poll is just one more preseason recognition that the Bearcats have received following their stellar 2025 campaign. Last  week, Binghamton was the unanimous pick to finish first in the America East and led all teams with seven preseason all-conference selections. In addition, D1Softball.com listed three Bearcats among the Top 100 players competing at the Mid-Major level.

A pair of teams in the D1Softball.com Preseason Mid-Major Poll square off against Binghamton this season. Top-ranked Florida Atlantic and sixth-ranked Coastal Carolina both face the Bearcats on Feb. 27. Coastal Carolina is hosting the weekend tournament Feb. 27-March 1.

Binghamton is one of five Northeast Region teams to appear in the D1Softball.com Preseason Mid-Major Poll. The Bearcats are joined by UConn (No. 13), Boston University (No. 14), Marist (No. 17) and St. John's (No. 22). 

The Bearcats finished last year 36-14 (16-2 AE), swept the America East regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.
